3-9. 陸軍整備システムの構成
a. The Army Maintenance System consists of two levels: field and sustainment. Field maintenance, also known as on-system maintenance, repairs and returns equipment to the operator or the user. Sustainment maintenance, also known as off-system maintenance, primarily repairs and returns equipment and components to the supply system. In times of mainte-nance transformation or contingency operations there is a blending of traditional roles and partnership of all AMC organ-izations and SORs to meet the repair requirements. Examples are DOLs performing sustainment repair of Class IX.
a.　陸軍の整備システムは、フィールド（前方整備）とサステインメント（後方修理）2つの段階に区分される。オン・シスステム整備とも呼ばれるフィールド整備は、装備品等を修理し、運用者または使用者に返却する。オフ・システム整備とも呼ばれるサステインメント整備は、主として装備品等を修理し、補給系統に返却する。整備変革または即応作戦の期間においては、すべての陸軍マテリアル・コマンド（AMC）の編制と修理機関（SOR）の従来の役割や関係の混合が存在する。その例としては、クラスⅨ（修理用部品）のサステインメント段階の修理の兵站部長（DOL）による実施がある。

b. Maintenance tasks will be performed in accordance with the MAC. Field maintenance organizations are authorized to perform all maintenance tasks coded “C,” “O,” and “F” as outlined in the equipment TM MAC when skilled maintainers, required SKOT, TMDE, and other necessary resources are available to perform the maintenance task.
b.　整備業務は、整備段階区分表（MAC）に従って実施される。フィールド整備機関は、資格を有する整備員、必要な修理器材（SKOT）、試験器材（TMDE）、その他の必要な資材が整備業務の実施に利用可能な場合において、各装備品の整備段階区分表（TM MAC）に「C」、「O]および「F」と記載されたすべての整備業務を実施する権限を有する。

c. Sustainment maintenance organizations are authorized to perform maintenance tasks coded “C,” “O,” “F,” and “H” as outlined in the equipment TM MAC when skilled maintainers, required SKOT, TMDE, and other necessary resources are available to perform the maintenance task. Only depot maintenance organizations and AMC designated sustainment maintenance activities are authorized to perform the full range of maintenance tasks coded ”C”, “O,” “F,” “H,” “L,” and “D” as outlined in the equipment TM MAC when skilled labor, industrial facilities and equipment, SKOT, TMDE, and other necessary resources are available to perform the maintenance task.
c.　サステインメント整備機関は、資格を有する整備員、必要な修理器材（SKOT）、試験器材（TMDE）、その他の必要な資材が整備業務の実施に利用可能な場合において、各装備品の整備段階区分表（TM MAC）に「C」、「O]、「F」および「H」と記載されたすべての整備業務を実施する権限を有する。補給処整備機関および陸軍マテリアル・コマンド（AMC）が指定するサステインメント整備実施機関のみが、資格を有する整備員、必要な修理器材（SKOT）、試験器材（TMDE）、その他の必要な資材が整備業務の実施に利用可能な場合において、「C」、「O]、「F」、「H」、「L」および「D」のすべての段階の整備業務を実施する権限を有する。

d. Field maintenance organizations will use shop stock and bench stock management procedures outlined in AR 710–2.
d. フィールド整備機関においては、AR 710-2に記載されているショップ・ストック（整備用部品を必要に応じて供用を受けて保有すること）およびベンチ・ストック（整備用消耗品をあらかじめ供用を受けて保有すること）の管理手順が履行される。
